What is Flex-C-Ment decorative concrete overlay?

Decorative concrete is a polymer modified cementicious mix designed to give excellent protective durability while decorating almost any new or existing substrate to simulate stone, tile, brick, slate, and many other configurations.

What is the cost per square foot?

The price depends on a number of factors such as the condition of the original substrate, whether the overlay is vertical or horizontal, the selected pattern, etc.

What is the warranty for the Flex-C-Ment product?

It shall be the sole responsibility of the manufacturer/seller to replace any portion of the Flex-C-Ment product which proves defective during the 3 year period following its purchase

How long does a Flex-C-Ment job take?

Most jobs can be done within 2 to 4 days depending on the size of job. However, there are exceptions, especially for commercial jobs and inclement weather conditions

How durable is Flex-C-Ment and will it crack?

Flex-C-Ment is a very durable product. Even so, we all know that concrete can crack. Depending on how the substrate was built, occasionally some hairline cracking may occur. We take every possible precaution to prevent cracking. They do not effect the integrity of the product.

Do you have to be certified to install the Flex-C-Ment product?

Yes, whether you are a contractor or a homeowner, we do require that all individuals obtain certification

How thick is the Flex-C-Ment material applied?

The horizontal work is typically applied at 1/8 to 3/8 depending on the method performed, and the vertical work is typically applied at 1/4 to 1 depending on the method performed and the stamping deemed necessary to achieve the desired look. For custom applications you can apply this product up to 3 vertically without sagging

How do you color the Flex-C-Ment product?

We have an extensive yet simplistic method using color pigments mixed with sealers with high penetration and other various techniques to achieve an aesthetically realistic look to our Flex-C-Ment systems. We use Color Hardeners on most horizontal work.

How long does the color last?

If sealed and maintained properly, the color should last the life of the substrate on which it was installed.

What substrates can you apply the Flex-C-Ment product?

I can apply the Flex-C-Ment product over wood, plywood, aspenite, lino, vinyl, concrete, painted or unpainted concrete, drywall, sheetrock, tile (ceramic or clay), brick, stucco, metal, and other masonry surfaces

How often do you need to reseal the Flex-C-Ment product?

Inside you might only need to reseal every 5 to 10 years depending on the amount of traffic. Outside you may need to reseal every 3 to 5 years depending on the traffic and weather elements.

How do you repair cracks before overlaying?

Flex-C-Ment has a crack bridging system using an underlayment with layers of fiber mesh and an elastomeric or rubber membrane trying to insure the most minimal possibility for reoccurrence.

How much does your Flex-C-Ment product weigh in comparison to real or manufactured stone?

Flex-C-Ment overlays are approximately 2/3 the weight of concrete, the wall overlays are approximately 1/2 the weight of concrete, therefore there is no structural reinforcement necessary.

Is Flex-C-Ment a fireproof material?

Flex-C-Ment is a noncombustible material which allows it to be used in fireplaces, kitchens, electrical areas, etc. with no problem

Is Flex-C-Ment cooler to walk on than regular concrete?

Because of the way Flex-C-Ment is manufactured, the material can dissipate the heat a lot faster than regular concrete, making the surface cooler.
